You and I
The Patient Looking back, it seems as though life was always trying to tell me that I cannot actually have anything I want. My parents were separated. I saw my brother once year and sometimes not even that often. It may have been my age and lack of emotional intelligence that kept me from having the clarity that I do now. You cannot have anything you want in life. I mean you could but only if you chose to want something attainable like a car or a cheeseburger. I have always wanted an extremely intense way of living. I want the routine but with controlled chaos. I want to love hard and feel pain, but really only the lesser kind of pain that can always be outweighed by love. I want a simply complicated life. One that did not make me feel like I was drowning. Unfortunately, wishes aren’t made to be that specific. Keep it simple. Okay. Sure. Is running away from my family and friends simply enough for you, Universe? Rhetorical question. Please do not feel the need to answer that.

Attention, Please!
Most of us are guilty of "living to work" instead of "working to live". We fail to see the thin line between the two and usually suffer the consequences especially when it comes to relationships. There are many types of people who get themselves stuck in this situation. Certain people (workaholics) put their heart and soul into their jobs, naturally because they are in love with their job. It keeps them going, puts a smile on their faces every morning, and it's simply a part of who they are or who they’ve become. Therefore, they feel they don’t have any space in their lives to accommodate relationships.

The Story of a "Prison Wife". Top Story - August 2017.
In the photo above, what do you see? Some would see it as a couple overcoming a task together. Perhaps she couldn't quite make the climb on the rock so she's looking to her partner for support. She has his support as he pulls her up but, if she slips, she could land up bringing them both down. This, like anything in life that involves 2 people requires trust, especially in a relationship. But what if your relationship isn't like anyone else's? Say, for instance, your significant other is incarcerated?

A Kink of Tea
A love triangle between three cups. Now that's something you don't hear of every day. Not just any old love triangle either. What if I were to tell you that there is a possible love triangle happening right now in your very kitchen? You would think I've gone mad. Well, I haven't actually, well maybe I have. Okay, I will admit it I have gone mad, but it was no real secret. I can hear all the cups talking every night.

Letters to a Lost Love
To the one I once loved, I could have lived my life happily, not knowing what emotional abuse was. Then you walked into my life. You carried yourself with courage and self-confidence. I found you daring and dashing. Sadly, it was the walk that kills me when I still see you every day. The walk where you puff your chest out and clench your fists at your side. Despite your colourful personality, you weren’t the prettiest. You were short with pimples covering every inch of your face. Those things didn’t matter to me though. I ignored every sign and every signal. My friends and family told me recognize the power you held in your confidence. To see the hatred you hid behind those beautiful blue eyes. Despite it all, I was convinced you were my future.

A Million Reasons
There we were: standing front row at a concert for our favorite band. He had his arms wrapped around me from behind; although I had such love for the band, I couldn't focus on anything except him. He was so beautiful, his body towering over me and making me feel safe inside, despite the hundreds of people behind me pushing and shoving me towards the barricade. As annoying as this cliché is, he felt like home.
