Remembering the Naval War in Asia and the Pacific
The naval war in the Pacific, otherwise the Pacific War, was one which began in 1941 and was all but over by 1944. The naval war was largely dominated by the U.S. Navy and Imperial Japanese Navy, which had a considerable assortment of warships. However, other Allied navies did provide additional naval support. Although a naval war, it was in fact largely won in the air.

A Brief History of the German Empire in the 20th Century
The German Empire had expanded during the 19th century, and by the 20th century, it had colonies in Africa, such as Togoland. However, it would not last that much longer in the 20th century. During the first couple of decades, Germany began to militarize in preparation for a war that would ultimately ensure the demise of the German Empire.

A Timeline of Operation Ten-Go
With Allied troops landing at Okinawa, additional naval support from the Imperial Japanese Navy was required. However, the IJN had only a smaller number of naval units at its disposal after a series of naval defeats in 1944. They still retained the largest battleship, that of the Yamato, which would be sent to Okinawa for Operation Ten-Go.

The Naval Race Between Germany and Great Britain: 1906-1914
The Anglo-German naval race was one that did not necessarily begin in 1906. In fact, years before, the Germans had already begun to expand the Imperial German Navy. In the late 19th century, the German Naval League was established. In the 20th century, there was little sign that the Germans would abandon their naval expansion program. The British were prepared to expand the Royal Navy to ensure that it clearly remained the largest in the world.
