Why I Write
Why do I write? That’s a question that I’ve been asking myself a lot lately. The answer used to come to me so easily, but now, it evades me. I suppose that’s what happens when you mix pleasure with work; pleasure becomes work, and you forget why you love what you love in the first place. So much beta reading, editing, and now ghost writing have caused me to forget why I love the thing that has been the core of my identity for so many years. Even writing for Vocal has been more work than pleasure at times, leaving me floundering to rediscover my writing self.

I've Been Writing for Lit Mags for Nearly A Year: Here's What I've Learned
The online literary scene is a storm of chaos that would make Dionysus weep with glee. Carnage churns the landscape, equal parts ink-soaked soil and vicious jungles. The torn bodies of old works, rejected works, and lost publications litter the lands, and your hopes and dreams bid you to step right over them. Sink them further into the muck of "yester-submissions" as you forge on in armor that may be the new shining plates of optimism, or plates scorched from burnout, painted with scenes of battles and cut out passages from a tale ongoing.

Never Eat The "Clean" Part Of Moldy Bread
Imagine that you are prepared to create the ideal sandwich. Imagine a sandwich made with tender turkey, ripe tomatoes, and creamy Swiss cheese, all lavishly encircled by two pieces of fragrant sourdough bread and served on a bed of fresh romaine lettuce. It's a time-honored joy and a future masterpiece. Oh no, however! This is what? You see mold as you reach for the bread, which is unattractive. Ugh! The puzzling issue is now, can you save your sandwich by just chopping off the rotten piece and eating the rest? Prepare yourself, because the solution may not be as obvious as you believe.

My First Book Could Have Saved A Life
I found myself burnt out this morning when I went to write. I haven't written in days, and I know I need to keep it up or I'll lapse into another 5-month hiatus. And that can't happen because it'll prevent me from reaching my goals. So I stuck some music in my ears and contemplated why I'm feeling this way.
