Fleeting #2 My Love is a Veil
My first piece on vocal was just a little over a year ago. A poem that I think still encapsulates my thoughts and values towards love but lacked any form or style to it. I certainly wouldn't write that now I have found some form and added flare to my writing but I certainly find my word choice and detail have improved noticeably. Writing has been a journey for me and fleeting showcases the journey. A love that comes and turns to words to melt away from the mind into creation. Beginning as a writer was quite terrifying for me and accepting it as part of my personality was a struggling process and now I'm sure Fleeting was only the seed of a grand passion.

When I Began
Late nights, early mornings, a rooster crows... I have had insomnia for as long as I can remember. I always would stay awake long into the early morning, when my siblings would be waking up to go to school but I would get stay home to play all day in my childhood bed which resided in a small office turned Harry Potter-esque closet of a room. What kept me awake? I rarely ever had a nightmare, and if I got scared of the dark I would turn on a night light.

Early on in my childhood I decided I needed to study science so I could prove what I was thinking was true. I have always been curious to find answers with reasonable explanations. For example, it seemed reasonable that Moses was able to part the Red Sea because he was educated and knew about tides. I reasoned that Jesus turned water into wine by diluting it. I was always drawn to explain myths. That is not to say I do not believe in miracles. I have seen them happen. Within my realm of thought, it is not impossible to believe that a gut feeling is attuned to cosmic elements, and results in rare, unexplained serendipitous events.
