The Friendship Recession: Why Adults Are Struggling To Build Close Relationships
This is a universal phenomenon that is affecting both individual and collective psyches. Humans thrive on companionship. The pandemic is solely to blame, however that particular far from auspicious time is not really to blame. The no-friends-trend-turned-friendship-recession, bringing forth the loneliness epidemic was a thing before 2020.

Been thinking a lot about drinking, lately. Not least because of a recent episode of over-indulgence and the inevitable after effects. Some readers may recall the earlier articles I wrote about beating the booze. Here I set out an experiment in techniques for cutting down on my alcohol intake. The experiment was successful, the techniques worked, and I have armed myself with an arsenal of weapons in the war against the demon drink. I have yet to fire the first round however. It's all a question of timing (perhaps procrastination).

The BAFTA Awards
By now, in a stunning departure from recent years, most of the world is aware of what happened at the BAFTA film awards. Social Media Headlines will tell you the bare bones: that John Davidson, a Tourette's Syndrome advocate, shouted a racial slur at two Actors of Colour, Michael B Jordan and Delroy Lindo.

Who is your "Person"?
It's important to recognize that you cannot go through life as easily on your own. My name is Elizabeth and I'm a survivor of child abuse and horrific trauma. Healing from trauma is not a quick fix and recognizing that it will take time, is part of the struggle.

Understanding ADHD: More Than Just “Lack of Focus”. AI-Generated.
For many people, ADHD is misunderstood. It’s often reduced to a simple idea: someone who can’t sit still or who gets distracted easily. But for those living with it, the reality is far more complex—and often far more exhausting. Because ADHD isn’t just about attention. It’s about how a person experiences the world. It shapes how thoughts move, how time is perceived, how tasks are started (or avoided), and how emotions are felt. And more often than not, it’s not about not trying. It’s about trying in ways that don’t always match expectations.

How to Instantly Spot a Narcissist, According to Psychology Experts
You Might Have Met One Without Realizing It Narcissists are everywhere—friends, colleagues, even family members. But they are often hard to spot because their charm comes first. Psychology experts say the key to identifying a narcissist isn’t waiting for them to show their worst side—it’s noticing subtle patterns early on. By observing charm, conversation habits, empathy, admiration-seeking, and boundary respect, you can protect yourself before being drawn into manipulative dynamics.

Grieving for a Father Who Rejected Me Even in His Death
I find I can feel rejection in so many different scenarios — with friends or family members. I don’t mean to; it’s just an underlying sheet of my core. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t sit there and stew in it and sit cross-legged like a child. I take the time to talk myself through it and reknit the scene. I know where it’s born from. It always comes from my dad.

The Psychology of People Who Go Silent When They’re Hurt
We’ve all experienced it at some point—someone gets hurt, and instead of arguing, explaining, or expressing their emotions, they go completely silent. No messages. No reactions. No visible anger. Just… distance.
