The very best in geek and comic entertainment.
Belén
Movies are a wonderful form of entertainment, but more importantly they are perhaps the best vehicle for social and political commentary there is because they are so accessible to the masses. This year we have gotten some excellent commentary from films like Sinners and Mickey 17 and now Belén.

Mickey 17
Mickey 17 was on the must watch list for last year but time got away from me. We are once again playing catch up before awards season, I promise I will start doing these in a timely manner this year! This was a film we knew we wanted to see. Robert Pattinson is actually an incredible actor who sometimes still gets caught up in Twilight discourse in an attempt to discredit his skills. That combined with it being a Bong Joon Ho movie made it highly anticipated.

After Nearly 60 Years, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting Votes to Dissolve Amid Funding Cutbacks For decades, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) served as the backbone of America’s public media landscape, channeling federal dollars to local public radio and television stations, including PBS and NPR. The Black Panther is bigger than one man
Author’s Note: Recent online speculation about the future of the Black Panther prompted a widespread debate over recasting, legacy, and respect for Chadwick Boseman’s portrayal. This essay expands on a prediction I shared publicly, arguing that the most faithful continuation of the character lies not in replacement, but in succession–specifically through introducing T’Challa’s son and heir. What follows is an exploration of why the Black Panther has always been a mantle shaped by legacy rather than a role defined by a single man.

John Cena's retirement
Happy New Years to all my readers! I know it's been a while. I do apologize and I want to start writing again. I promise I'll try my best, so here we go. It's been quite a while since John Cena's final match. Truthfully I'm still in denial that it's finally over. As a friendly reminder, like all kids around my age John Cena was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up. Batista was my absolute favorite but John was definitely up there. I had stopped watching wrestling once the PG era started, but deep down and as I'd gotten older I've always had an affinity for wrestling. But when John announced his retirement. I decided to follow a little more closely, as shown by my previous articles both simply thanking Cena and my 2024 prediction as to how it would go down and what I'd like to see from his retirement tour.

Critics Choice Awards 2026 and the Stories That Stayed With Us
Every year leaves behind a certain feeling. Some years rush past in noise, while others settle quietly into memory. The year leading to the Critics Choice Awards 2026 belongs to the second kind. It was shaped by stories that did not beg for attention but earned it slowly. Films and shows sat with grief, love, faith, loneliness, and the simple act of surviving another day. Viewers did not just watch these stories. They carried them into their own lives. As awards season approaches, the Critics Choice Awards 2026 invite us to pause and reflect. Not on popularity, but on meaning. Not on numbers, but on moments that felt real enough to hurt.
