After the apocalypse, the only safe space was at the abandoned lighthouse in the small town of Gloucester. Sitting on the shore with my toes in the sand, wind in my hair, and sun on my skin almost made me forget that everything was different now. It had been years since I had last seen another person; since I had last seen her. I mean, it was probably for the best considering the circumstances. Being on the beach was good for many reasons, but it did truly help with being safe, it really had nothing to do with the fact that I was waiting for her to come back to me.

The Year of Teleportation: 2020
I would really like traveling if traveling wasn't involved. I made this statement to my family during our mini-vacation last week. Packing for 6 kids and two adults presents challenges. Loading everything up in a Tahoe with a limited amount of storage space takes time and creativity. Think old-school Tetris with luggage. Then, before departure, the age old struggle of who rides where ensues. When the wheels finally start to turn, there's a sigh of relief, but also dread at the thought of traveling only a few miles before someone needs to use the bathroom. So, the real hassle of travel, is the traveling. Once at the destination, the fun begins until it's time to pack up, load up, and return home. So, I would really like traveling if traveling wasn't involved.

Sixteen hours, three layovers, and endless snoring from the man sleeping next to me has me cranky. Everyone glorifies living in NYC but they never talked about the flight back to Africa. Kenya has probably never looked more beautiful than it looks right now. My seatmate grumbles about a stupid light and, I quickly close the shade. “Sorry, not a morning person, I see” I whisper under my breath.

If you were in a time-traveling machine that needed excess speed to actually time travel, like the car from the movie Back to the Future, and you accidentally hit someone, killing the person, would you go to the authorities or simply flee the scene? Yes, it would be a horrible thing to do. So, should time travelers be exempt from accidentally killing someone while in the process of time traveling? That would be a big no, but a tragic incident like that could happen when time-traveling or, at least, when time travel becomes possible.

Uber is Planning Sale of Their Flying Car Division
Uber has been in talks to offload their flying car division called Elevate to Joby Aviation. A deal could be announced later this year. Elevate plans to offer on-demand air taxis in Los Angeles, Dallas and Melbourne by 2023.
