You're reading this three hours before the reception. That's fine. That's completely fine. Take a breath. I've been where you are standing in a hotel bathroom, tie half knotted, wondering why you didn't write this speech during the six months you've had since your brother asked you. As we stand on the threshold of a new year, it is a time to reflect on the past twelve months and look forward with hope and intention. The past year has been full of challenges and moments of growth. We have faced personal struggles, witnessed societal changes, and navigated a world that often seems uncertain. Yet even in the face of adversity, there is always room for hope, for compassion, and for the pursuit of understanding.
