Your Name In my Brain

It sticks I can’t move on or forget

Your Name In my Brain

Your name is stuck in my brain like glue,

I had to make it mine,

Even when the night pressed close,

Even when the shadows whispered lies.

It hums between my ribs,

A quiet ache that never leaves,

Every echo of it pulls me closer,

Every silence drags me under.

I tried to speak it,

But the words came wrong,

Twisting like smoke,

Falling back into the dark.

I see it in everything,

The edge of a shadow,

The curve of a street,

someone breathing near.

I cannot unhear it,

Cannot unsee it,

Your name is mine,

And I am lost in it.

It crawls into my dreams,

Soft, sticky, unrelenting,

A whisper I cannot fight.

Wall‘s themselves murmur it,

Under my skin it digs,

Claiming every quiet moment.

Even in the day,

I hear it in my own pulse,

A name that won’t let go.
