When we meet,

I was playing a yo-yo

My smile wide and beaming

It goes down

Must come up

What leaves always comes back

You laughed at me for loving it

Everything about it

The idea that everything comes back

Not everything that comes back is good

I couldn’t imagine that world

We dated leisurely over the summer

You kissed me

Pulled away

Came back beaming

It was kind of like that yo-yo I had

Then one day you went away

A few days later you came back

When a week passes, I am worried

Yet you came back

Last month I finally said you right

It’s not always great when things come back

About the Creator

Lisa Pulliam

I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.
