The Plight Of The Tortured Man
A poem by me, Jason Morton

Across the planes of dimness of existence
Once the darkness's favored one
Deep into the misery and the despair
A servant that marched until their will be done
---
Eyes always darting
Looking for that next inevitable source
It was a source of forever pain and suffering
They were the enemies of good but the masters were worse
---
Take it easy, son
It gets easier being the bad guy the longer you do it
Sucked into the depths of their tortured world
Die the hero, or live long enough you become the villain
---
Commited the things that needed done and in god's name
Nothing they said ever the truth
Great leaders above us, with a serpents venomous ways
Each one a masterclass in what the devil on your shoulder says
---
Gave all to them because of the credo
There was nothing in the end of the story that was real though
And burned for their sins, their secrets carried deep
How did I stay so blind for such amounts of time
---
Escape it, a promise
Before their fangs completely consumed my soul
Looking back on time, something always a miss
The devil changes the goal
---
Walk across the ember filled fields
Breathe in not too much of the burning stench
Eyes searing and cinged hair
Fields of fire born from crops of despair
---
It was not hell that stabbed at thee
But truth rotting away at your subconscious
For in the bowels of such a venomous beastly creature
Escaping becomes a task for the brave
---
Lay down the arms of the young lion
Accept that there's a life awaiting after the pain and suffering
Carry the ghosts of sings long past into the abyss of tomorrow
But go, faster, and learn to carry it with such sweet sorrow
---
Only the monsters benefit from revelations
The demons and predators that reside in the above
Do your best to carry the burden of that place from which you came
Hearing the magic tunes carried on the wings of a dove
---
Find peace in the land of the harsh and unknown
No longer soldiers of the dammed
And feel not scared of a world with no plan
Your not wanted, but at least a life that you made you still can
---
Find peace...
