I almost said something… but didn’t
Mute as a tongueless haunt
I remained merely a watchful specter
Cowering in a corner… helpless… afraid
As blows rained down upon her skin
My only interjection salty trickles
Runnelling down my cheeks
When her skin split …. Crimson flowing
I but moaned… turned away
At six I wasn’t big enough
Not strong enough
I lacked the power …
To stop You
No longer….
My voice I have found
When I find you
You will hear my roar
This I promised over my mother’s ashes
This I will fulfill upon my father’s person

Oof this is so sad . I feel for every person who faces abuse, but for the children who go through it and witness it like this.. my heart shatters. I don't even like voices raised in my house in front of my kids.
A sad one! 😞 Hope you are having a good long weekend. & Thanks for your friend request on fb the other day.
The image of staying silent while everything unfolds is hard to sit with. It captures how trauma isn’t only in what happens to you, but also in what you’re forced to witness. That kind of silence can echo long after the moment is gone.
This was so heartwrenching. But unfortunately, is the reality for many 🥺
Oh yikes! Another horrid man beating someone smaller. I hope this is not true!
