Said like it's simple

Just get a job.

It’s simple. Really.

Update your resume.

Update it again.

One more time for good measure.

Now search for jobs:

Indeed. LinkedIn. ZipRecruiter.

Department of Labor.

Fill out five, ten, fifty applications.

Create another account and password.

Work Experience. Education.

Special Skills. References.

Salary Expectations.

Tailor another cover letter.

Wait.

Reject emails.

Silence.

One interview.

Phone screen.

Second round.

Assessment.

Final interview.

We've decided to move forward with another candidate.

Update your resume.

Lower your standards.

Broaden your search.

Try not to cry at manager positions starting at $40k

or “entry-level” positions asking for five years of experience.

Just get a job.

It’s not supposed to be hard.

Try switching fields.

Find something part-time.

Maybe retail.

Jokes on you.

They don’t want you either.

File your weekly unemployment claim.

Feel your confidence slip a little more.

Just get a job.
