I Won't Let Go

Thinking of my dad

I know you are in the underworld,

And yet I still feel you right here,

It's like you never left this world,

As our mannerisms are so similar.

Somedays I close my eyes,

Just hoping for a dream,

To get a good look at you and

For one last time to see you smile.

I think of your wisdom, your last words

On how life was becoming more expensive,

To save and work while able bodied.

The memories seep from my veins,

Create illusions of you that I see,

Almost so vividly as though you are in front of me.

You may be deceased, but you are always right here with me.

They always seem to nearby, if only they could give a sign. Every day I wonder if something will alert us of those gone. Memory still helps. Hope he gets the message. Hugs.
