A Complicated Lock
A Villanelle For The Vocal "Say It Plainly" Challenge
Introduction
I saw this treasure chest in the Whitby Museum and thought it was saying something to me. I am still not sure, so I thought I would write a poem to say what I see there.
The music is "Lock and Key" by Julia Fordham
Although this challenge states a minimum of a hundred words (the original minimum for poetry on Vocal), the minimum for poetry is now zero:
So this excludes haiku, limerick, senryΕ« and any short-form poem, so I will choose a villanelle for this one. I know someone will hate this π.

Like why would anyone hate you for a Villanelle, especially a brilliant one like this?
