Did You Watch It?

WHY did you watch it???

Mojave Desert

You know that video I shared yesterday? The one for the song "Unlovable Things"?

You saw THIS before you watched...

WARNING

...and you still watched.

If you actually listened to every second of that bouncy nightmare... well, I have some news.

The rumor going around was that listening to that song would make you die before the week ended.

Don't feel bad. I watched too. Curiosity is a bitch, isn't it? I thought it was just another stupid internet hoax. A creepy pasta. Those aren't real...

Or so I thought.

I saw the original.

This one.

I thought it was fake... catchy. Fun. Nothing else. But the ear worm would not leave my head!

Before I knew it, I felt like my eyes were going to explode and my options were limited.

Pass it on... or die.

So, I passed it to you.

I needed to feel silence again. I needed the pressure to stop. And judging by the fact that I can finally hear myself think... it worked. You took the bait, you heard the gasp, and now the noise is officially your problem.

Why did I do it?

If you're currently feeling that little spark of pressure behind your eyes and wondering what comes next (stay away from bleach and bus stops, by the way), I’ve decided to be generous one last time.

I’m revealing the truth behind the song, the debt, and why I had to give it to you.

Please watch this short video:

My new collection of short horror stories is officially live, and it features the full, unfiltered account of "Unlovable Things."

Think of this story as a survival guide (maybe) to the debt... Or maybe it's just a way for me to offload a few more nightmares before they get too loud.

The choice is yours now:

You can sit there and listen to the song bounce around in your skull, or you can grab the book, see how the debt ends, and find someone else to pass the bill to.

I feel lighter already. Don't you?

Get the collection here:

Yes! I wrote, sang, performed, edited, and mastered the song.

No! You will not actually die from listening to it lol.

You can also hear my kids and husband in that song, which makes it one of my personal favorites!

This book is a collection of 20 short horror stories that take place in the Mojave Desert. The first two in the sample have been published here on Vocal. (Becca and Mirrors In The Mojave). Another was published under a different name but is now so much darker. The rest are original and unpublished anywhere else. It is available in three different formats.

Kindle, paper back, and hardcover.

I designed the cover myself using an actual picture of Route 66 and some filters and blood splatters from google and made with paint. Everything was made using Canva. I put it together myself. It took me forever, but I am pretty proud of it!

The "monsters" in this book are some you may know and some that I have made up in my own head. This story flowed out like an old friend because I KNOW the Mojave Desert and writing it was a lot of fun AND hard work.

I put a lot of time and thought into this book and I hope it shows.

Kindle version is free if you have a Kindle Unlimited subscription.

If you don't it's $6.00

Paperback is $20.

Hard cover is $25.

I wish I could price that lower but let me break it down for you because I want to be transparent about what I actually profit.

If you order Kindle, I get $ 2.10

If you order paperback, I make $5

Hard cover, I make $6

Crazy, right?

Amazon takes 40 percent of anything I earn, and I am responsible for all printing costs.

This book has tiny photos inside and that takes more ink, which means I pay more for printing. The cover is detailed, higher printing costs. I chose higher end paper. Higher printing cost. And SHE THICK. this book is over 350 pages long in paperback form. So, that costs as well. When I said this book flowed from me like an old friend, I'm being honest. I didn't even realize how much I actually wrote until I was in the middle of prepping and confirming and spell checking etc. (Dear God, PLEASE let me have caught all the typos 🤞🙏)

If you support me and buy this, please leave a review! It helps me out- especially if you are a confirmed Amazon customer! Thank you to anyone who chooses to support me on this journey!

Disclaimer- this book is not for the faint of heart. I stepped it up in the horror department and I think it shows!

I bought your book! I’m not personally all that much into horror but I love your writing and I wanted to support you. My daughter loves horror so I got it as a gift for her. I’m sure she will love it! She is a book dragon 🐉. You know because I’m raising her right 😏

I truly enjoy your voice. I'm in the process of moving from the working world to the writing world and one of the things I want to do in addition to writing full time, is figure out ways to give meaningful support to other writers. Congratulations on the book. You just made the list.

Wow! You’re unstoppable, Sara! But that’s the way to do it when solidifying a name in this space. I’m super impressed and I know you’re proud of it all, you should be and deserve to sell a ton of books. I’ll bookmark this story to remind me to take a look at the book.

This is really cool! Congratulations on your book. I know all to well how much Amazon takes. I really wish they had some competition. They make it so hard for authors to even make money. You spend hours, day after day writing this book, all for them to take the majority of what you make.

Do you get any sleep? Wow this is so good and complicated and so much effort. Do you ever sleep? How can you work and have three kids and a husband and do all of this.. and edit it all - holy cow good for you!! good luck on the book and by the way I used to live on Route 66 in Illinois … although at that part of Route 66 it’s not called Route 66. 🤞🍀🤗

I have a collection of Vocal author books that I'm excited to add this to. You'll look wonderful on my shelf nestled next to Paul, Mother Combs, and Sandy.

This is so sick :) The versatility to not only write the story, but also perform and mix this music and assemble all the visuals— wild levels of talent in so many areas. Very cool! I bet that book is rad :)
