I walked into the kitchen and flipped on the lights. Then I just stood there, looking around.
I came in here for something. But what?
I opened the fridge, pantry and a couple of cupboards. Nothing jogged my memory so I flipped off the switch and left.

Worrying
Roger leaned over his drafting table, scrutinizing the blueprints spread before him. The midmorning sun streamed through his office window filling it with much appreciated light and raising the temperature to an unwelcome level. He could feel a little bead of sweat trickle down the back of his neck.

Harbinger of Despair
Who was he but just a man? To feel the weight of the world on his shoulders, he was no Atlas. Yet his bowed stance and tender neck suggested otherwise. It came to him in a dream: the absent stoking of an everlasting flame. A gnarled finger pointed towards an inevitable end, a sign that couldn't be ignorantly shaded; recurrence made sure of it. He didn't remember how long it had been going on; time didn't matter at this point. He just knew it was long enough to be petrified to fall asleep.

The mahogany trees in Sierra Leone cracked under the worrying sun. Joseph trekked, kicking up dirt with porous sandals. His newborn daughter, Hawa, was cradled against his bare chest, suckling at his nipple. Wincing, he fixed a woven, white cloth over her head.
