The anatomy of manipulation

Religion can set you up for manipulation

By Yvonne KnightPublished about 5 hours ago 5 min read

Religion can set you up for manipulationTake a closer look at Jodi Hildebrandt and Jim Jones you will start to see anatomy of manipulation starts to take form. These larger than life personalities have one thing in common they come into people's lives at their lowest point and they look like shining light out of the darkness. Jody and Jim knew how to draw their victims, and they seem to know exactly what their victims were searching for and hand delivered it to them

I was watching this documentary on Netflix about Jodi Hildebrant and It talked a little bit about Ruby Frankie, but the primary focus was on Jodi Hildebrant. After watching that documentary, I gained a greater understanding of how this terrible situation came to be. Ruby Frankie Was encountering typical difficulties of raising boys who were at the age where they wanted to push back and test boundaries I believe her religious background added to the pressure of being a mother and a wife sometimes legion can add to this prefer system we call life cause it forces this expectation on us that we should be better do better for God. You can clearly see in the videos that she is struggling as a mom and possibly a wife So what do you do, you're going to start looking for help because you want your children to grow up to be the best thing nothing we can so you start looking to another person for help. We lived in teaches us to look above this and outside of ourselves for help. Enters Jodi the pressure release.

Jodi Hildebrant, she had convinced people in her church that their feelings were negative and of the devil. if people were having a sexual problem in their marriage due to not wanting to feel intimate or A porn issue; those feelings and themselves or not a bad thing by themselves, it's how you act on those feelings that make it a bad thing. For example, if porn is taking up unnecessary space in your life or marriage than it becomes a problem because you are putting porn before your marriage. Usually when a partner is seeking out porn any marriage it is a sign of deeper Marital issue Relating to intimacy as a marriage counselor or somebody who's giving marital advice, she should have help them reconnect as an intimate couple. Religions makes people feel bad about natural sexual nature of things that when people find themselves attracted to things like dirty magazines or movies or maybe they're just trying to put a Band-Aid on what's really going on in their marriage and usually there lack of intimacy is due to scheduling because life gets busy or it could be an emotional intimacy problems but people with religious backgrounds tell their people that these subjects are Subjects that people should not talk about it's because we keep these feelings in the dark that's why they have church power over people if people what were able to talk about these things more openly and honestly these feelings were. not have such a grip us as people. Utah is primed for this kind of thing because Mormons religions is sorry basically open door for this kind of thing the curve because religions makes certain feelings and emotions a taboo subject so when you with somebody like Jodi Says I see you can hear you and I know that you have strained but I can get you they're gone we were just and I was sent by God himself To get you on your righteous path.

The previous married couple the one who like to watch porn at night because he felt like his wife was withholding affections from him; she made him miss his daughter's 1st birthday and it wasn't because he was abusing his child. I know some of you are going to jump to that conclusion, but this wasn't anything like that she often did this to her so-called clients because if they had a support system, they would realize how crazy the things were that she was telling them to do. How to be her unrealistic expectations of controlling every in pure thought. This married couple and up about going broke trying to afford Jodi's services By the time they realized that Jodi was actually doing The damage was done, it was too late to save their marriage, they got divorced She did the exact same thing to Ruby's husband She got him out of the house and away from his family, so she can assert turn dominance over Ruby. If Jodi Was allowed to continue one or more of the children probably would have died and we'll be would not have done anything to save her children.

The pattern of control is clear, you give them validation then you shame, exhaustion and Deprivation will prevent them from being able to leave. You reveal them in emotionally and then you breakdown the psychological defenses and then you weaken them physically you remove all means of escape to the outside world by telling them you have nobody else but us your true family the whole point of Jonestown was to keep people isolated exhausted and under severe deprivation so that they would be truly dependent on him thus they would lose the ability to leave. There were some people who had their very lives threaten if they ever left. When Jim Jones felt he was losing control of his flock he ordered the execution of everyone by making them drink the 'Kool-Aid', Which was to drink laced with cyanide. A lot of people did not drink the Kool-Aid will willingly they were forced to five people they, so they syringe and forced it into Their mouth, and the mouth of children Jim Jones was so horrified of how these people looked after they ingested the cyanide that he took his own life by suicide. I hope is a loop where he must ingest cyanide The video of those poor people ingesting cyanide will stay with me for a long time.

I think religion sets you up for this kind of thing cause it's always talking about looking to a higher power it doesn't talk much about critical thinking it's more like behavioral conditioning which is what these kind of people of very good and these people were taught simple problem solving skills and some critical thinking they would have been less susceptible to this kind of thing but because of their religious beliefs it kind of set them up to be an easier target for people alike jodi and Jim preyed upon There were some people who knew what was going on was wrong they still couldn't bring themselves to leave because they like the security of having anchorage cause that's what religion gives people something to lean on for support and some people need that at all costs even if it cost them everything. Thanks to the I'm willing sacrifices all these people we now know the importance of releasing the feeling of shame and I hope people take this lesson to heart I truly hope that rubies children can find a way to heal from this and have a good life because they deserve it especially after all they've been through. God does not endorse false prophets not now ever.
